Alto de Mifafi: this road is not for timid drivers

Alto de Mifafi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.414m (14,481ft) above the sea level, located in Sierra de La Culata range, in Mérida State, Venezuela. It's one of the highest roads of the country.

Tucked away in the Venezuelan Andes, within the La Culata National Park, the road to the summit, also known as Pico los Caracoles and Pico Los Nevados, is unpaved and bumpy. The pass sits on the road from Casa de Gabierno on Transandina road towards Mucumpis. 4wd vehicle required. Proper preparation is essential to having a safe, enjoyable trip on this road.
