A delightful yet challenging road to Páramo el Zumbador

Páramo el Zumbador is a picturesque hamlet at an elevation of 2.571m (8,435ft) above the sea level, located in the Venezuelan state of Táchira.

Nestled in the Andes mountain range, the curvy road to the summit is paved but narrow with steep parts. It’s called Trans-Andean highway (Carretera Trasandina/Troncal7/Route 7). It’s a difficult road, with uncountable turns and twists.

This is a remarkable road trip as Páramo El Zumbador is an excellent tourist destination. Make sure you leave enough time to make plenty of stops along the way. The road features a few viewpoints to observe the beautiful environment.

The road to the town is 22.6 km (14.04 miles) long, running between the villages of Mesa de Aura and El Cobre. It’s usually very cold, even in full sun, because strong winds blow often.
