Road LM-110

Located in the province of Huaral in Peru, Carretera LM-110 is one of the scariest roads of the country.

Road LM-110

The gravel and bumped road is 50.8 km (31.5 miles) long, running entirely over 2.500 meters above the sea level. Driving at night, or in poor visibility, is not recommended for drivers unfamiliar with the road. This is definitely not a Sunday drive. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with dangerous dropoffs. A vertical fall of 1.000m is awaiting you onsome turns. With drops that appear to be hundreds, if not a thousand feet to the side, experienced drivers are the only ones who should attempt this route. Its highest elevation is at 3.375m (11,072ft) above the sea level.

This route is not recommended if your passengers are prone to car sickness. With hundreds of turns (29 of them hairpinned), the drive will take some skill, some patience, and some tolerance for vertigo. It's very intense because there are no guard rails at the edge. Located in the Andes mountain range, the road links the villages of San José (San Buenaventura District) and Sumbilca (Sumbilca District).
