The lagoon is located in the southern part of the country in the Peruvian Altiplano. To the west sits Laguna Loriscota, a high mountain lagoon at an elevation of 4.550m (14,927ft) above sea level.

Is the road to Laguna Viscacha and Laguna Loriscota paved?

The road is fully paved. It’s called Ctra. Binacional/Route 36 A. It’s in very good condition, though it comprises many turns and steep sections, running through a remote zone.

How long is the road to Laguna Viscacha and Laguna Loriscota?

The road through the lakes is 88.2 km long, running west-east from Abra Huaytire (a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.768m-15,643ft above sea level, on the border of Moquegua and Tacna departments) to Mazocruz (also spelled Mazo Cruz, the capital of the Santa Rosa District in the El Collao Province, department of Puno).
