Abra Ojelaca is a paved road heading deep into the high mountains
Abra Ojelaca is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.606m (15,111ft) above the sea level, located in the Andes of southern Peru, in the Moquegua Region.
The road to the summit is called Interoceanica Sur. It’s asphalted but pretty steep. Do not take this drive if you have respiratory problems or any type of heart condition. The high elevation with its risk of altitude sickness, weather concerns, steep road grade, and overall inaccessibility make the pass dangerous and summit trips difficult.
