Is the road to Abra Acopunco paved?
The road through the pass is called 3S. It is totally paved with smooth black asphalt. White road markings define both outer edges, with no painted center line separating opposing traffic lanes. It has a two-lane width with zero hard shoulders or paved drainage ditches. The road edges meet raw earth and grass slopes directly, lacking steel guardrails, concrete barriers, or lateral safety infrastructure on the downhill side. It features 40 hairpin turns.

The pass is 37km long, running north-south from Haquira to Quiñota.
