The pass is located south of Puno, in the Puno Region, in the southern part of the country.

Is Abra Caballuni unpaved?

The road through the pass is totally unpaved, with loose gravel. It comprises many hairpin turns, steep sections, and a few narrow parts with drops on one side. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended.

How long is Abra Caballuni?

The pass is about 71km (44 miles) long, running west-east from Ichuña to Cutimbo.
