The pass is located in the Grau Province, in the southern part of the country.

Set high in the Andes mountain range, the road to the summit was totally paved in the 2020’s. It’s called 3S Road.

How challenging is the road to Abra Progreso?

The drive is not easy. The road is narrow, with hundreds of curves (most of them hairpin turns) and steep in parts, hitting a 7.1% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.

How long is the road to Abra Progreso?

The road through the pass is 33.7 km (20.94 miles) long, running west-east from Progreso to Kenco Ccasa.
