The road to the summit is totally unpaved, rocky and steep. A 4x4 vehicle is required. The air dryness and the oscillation of temperatures that takes place during the day and night is one of the features of this area. Day is warm by direct sun and nights are extremely cold.

Starting from Cuesta Codoceo pass on Ruta 31, the road to the summit is 1.8 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 111 m and the average gradient is 6.16%.
