Paso Colchane-Pisiga

Travelling through the international Colchane-Pisiga Pass

Paso Colchane-Pisiga is an international high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.695m (12,122ft) above the sea level, located on the Chilean-Bolivian border.

The road to the pass is totally paved. On the Chilean side is called Ruta 15-CH and on the Bolivian side is called Ruta Nacional 12. The climb is simply terrible, with a notorius lack of oxygen that tests the organisms and a high degree of steepness. Do not travel this pass in severe weather conditions.
