Is the road to Cerro Peña Orko unpaved?
The road through the pass is totally unpaved, and a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended. The drive is not easy, with countless turns, many hairpin turns, steep sections, and narrow parts. In some sections you’ll need to reverse to be able to take the sharp hairpin turns.
How long is the road through Cerro Peña Orko?
The pass is about 20km (12 miles) long, running south-north from Abra de Santa Cruz (in Salta Province of Argentina) to Ruta Nacional 28 (near Huayllajara in Bolivia).
