Cape Royal

The amazing scenic drive to the summit is called Cape Royal Road. It’s asphalted but quite narrow and winding in places. There are a long of sharp bends and there are speed restrictions all along the way. At the summit is a large gravel parking area. It’s closed from October to May. The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views. There are lots of viewpoints, official and unofficial. The road is a delight to drive, with every kind of twist and turn. Cape Royal provides a panorama up, down, and across the canyon. The road is 19.0 miles long.
