The road is a shortcut from US-212 Beartooth Highway and Morrison Jeep Trail. Located in the Northern Rocky Mountains, the road is gravel, rocky and treacherous in parts. Weather conditions can change quickly and be harsh. Road closures can be frequent. 4wd vehicle required. Only travel on this road when it is dry. As always, check road conditions before departing. Do not take this drive if you have respiratory problems or any type of heart condition. Altitude and extreme weather is always a factor at any time of year. This is Grizzly country.
