Carter Mountain Road is a high mountain road located in Park County, Wyoming, in USA, climbing up to 3.445m (11,302ft) above the sea level. It’s one of the highest roads of Wyoming.

Located in the Absaroka Range, the road is gravel, rocky and treacherous in parts. Weather conditions can change quickly and be harsh. Road closures can be frequent. 4wd vehicle with high clearance required. Only travel on this road when it is dry. The road is difficult and it’s a nightmare in the wet or dark (or both). Do not take this drive if you have respiratory problems or any type of heart condition. Altitude and extreme weather is always a factor at any time of year.
