Located in the Dixie National Forest, the road to the summit is gravel, steep and rough in parts. Weather conditions can change quickly and be harsh. Road closures can be frequent. 4wd vehicle required. This exquisite winding mountain drive encompasses miles of stunning views. It can get very muddy and slippery after rain. Proper preparation is essential to having a safe, enjoyable trip on this road. As always, check road conditions before departing. The road is difficult and it’s a nightmare in the wet or dark (or both). Do not take this drive if you have respiratory problems or any type of heart condition.
