Schellbourne Pass

Schellbourne Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.317m (7,601ft) above the sea level, located in northern White Pine County, in northeastern Nevada in the western United States.

The road to the summit, aka Schellbourne Summit and Shellbourne Pass, is called White Pine County Road 18. The road is a delight to drive, with every kind of twist and turn. Located in the Schell Creek Mountains, the road is well graded for the most part and easy traveling. The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views.
This is an isolated trip. The ride is rather remote, so you need to be prepared. In case of a breakdown, there is very little in the way of passing traffic or inhabitants around, and no cell phone service in parts. There are no services and no cell-phone reception. Start with a full tank of gas and a good spare tire. The pass was named for Major A.J. Schell, United States commander in the mid 1880s.
