The peak is located north of South Pass City, in the central part of Wyoming, within the Shoshone National Forest.

Why is there a road to Blue Ridge Mountain?

At the summit there’s a lookout tower built by the CCC in 1938 known as Blue Ridge Lookout. 

Is the road to Blue Ridge Mountain unpaved?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Forest Road 3061A. It’s a very short (0.5-mile) long, starting from the scenic Forest Road 306. 4x4 vehicles only.

Is the road to Blue Ridge Mountain open year-round?

Set high in the Wind River Range, the road is open in the summer season only. It’s open from June-July through October.
