The lake is located in the southern part of Wyoming, near the border with Colorado, within the Medicine Bow National Forest.

Is the road to Arrastre Lake unpaved?

The road to the lake is totally unpaved, narrow and steep in parts, hitting a 10% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. It’s called Gold Hill Road. A 4x4 vehicle is required.

How long is the road to Arrastre Lake?

Starting from the paved WY-130, the road to the lake is 6.7 km. 

Is the road to Arrastre Lake open year-round?

Set high in the Medicine Bow Mountains, the road tops out 3.218m (10,557ft) above sea level. It’s not plowed in winters.
