Polihale Ridge Road is a very scenic drive located in Kauai, an island in the Central Pacific, part of the Hawaiian archipelago, in USA.
The road is totally unpaved, bumpy and very narrow. Open to all motorized vehicles, however, strongly recommended for 4-wheel drive vehicles. It’s located in Polihale State Park, the western most publicly accessible area in the United States.
Located within the Puu Ka Pele Forest Reserve, the road is 5.3 miles (8.83 km) long starting from State Highway 550. The unpaved road will lead you to the striking Na Pali Coast beach. This beach will take your breath away. This trail passes through remote areas, so you need to be prepared. Remember to extreme cautions on the beach. Extremely strong currents. Dangerous shore break.
