Where is Craig Peak?

The peak is located south of Wolcott, in the north-central part of Colorado, within the White River National Forest. At the summit there’s a small parking lot.

Is the road to Craig Peak unpaved?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Craig Peak Road. It features very steep sections and 3 hairpin turns. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

How long is the road to Craig Peak?

Starting from Nolan Creek Road, the road to the summit is 3.21km (2.0 miles) long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 188m (620 ft) and the average gradient is 5.85%.

Is the road to Craig Peak open year-round?

Set high in the Sawatch Range, the road is not plowed in winters.
