The pass is located east of Bull of the Woods Pass, in the southern part of Montana, near the Wyoming border, within the Custer Gallatin National Forest.

The road to the summit is totally unpaved, with loose gravel and rocky. It’s called Forest Service Road 579. A 4x4 vehicle is required.
