The peak is located west of Leesburg, in the north-central part of Idaho, within the Salmon - Challis National Forest.
What’s at the summit of Jureano Mountain?
At the summit there’s a fire lookout. This site was built in 1935 as a 60-foot steel tower with a 7 by 7-foot cab and an accompanying log cabin for living quarters. It was last used in the 1950's.

The road to the summit is totally unpaved, sometimes rugged, quite rocky and a bit steep. It is called Rfd 325. A 4WD vehicle with good tires is required.
