The road through the pass is totally paved and in good condition. It’s called Montana State Highway 278 (MT-278). The drive is steep, hitting a 9% maximum gradient through some of the ramps.

How long is Badger Pass?

The road through the pass is 97.68 km (60.7 miles) long, running north-southeast from Wisdom to Dillon (the county seat of Beaverhead County). The drive offers spectacular views of the Pioneer Mountain Range.
