Where is Onyx Summit in California?

Set high in the San Bernardino Mountains, within the San Bernardino National Forest, the pass is located in the southwestern part of San Bernardino County, in Southern California.

Is the road to Onyx Summit in California paved?

The road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called California State Route 38. At this elevation, it’s said to be the highest State Highway summit in Southern California. The pass is steep in parts, hitting an 11.2% maximum gradient through some of the ramps.

How long is Onyx Summit in California?

The pass is 45.38km (28.2 miles) long, running from Angelus Oaks to Sugarloaf. A minor gravel road to the east of the summit climbs up to Onyx Peak, at 2,782m (9,127ft) above sea level.
