Pilot Rock Truck Trail is a drive high over Silverwood Lake in CA

Pilot Rock OHV Road 2N33 is a roughly graded road located IN San Bernardino County, in the southern portion of the U.S. state of California.

Pilot Rock Truck Trail

Nestled in San Bernardino National Forest, the road also known as Forest Road 2N33, is totally unpaved. It’s 19.95km (12.4 miles) long, travelling from the Cedar Springs Dam at Lake Silverwood to State Highway 173 just north of Lake Arrowhead. It is easily accessible to all 4WD equipped vehicles.

The trail is steep with a couple sections of rock crawling, and tops out at 1.579m (5,180ft) above the sea level. Plan a minimum of 3 hours for the journey. The trail can be accessed year round, but do keep in mind that road conditions may vary depending on weather. If it has rained or snowed recently, the road may be muddy and have deep ruts, requiring both high clearance and 4WD. The drive offers lots of great views of Silver Wood Lake.
