Ivanpah-Lanfair Road Drive is a very scenic drive located in the Lanfair Valley, in the Mojave Desert in southeastern California near the Nevada state line.
The road is 46 miles long. The start and the end of the road are paved, but the central section is graded dirt. The road normally is fine for sedans during the dry season, but it can become washed out during storms. Damage at washes; a few sandy areas. High clearance recommended. The drive is definitely worth it. Don’t forget your camera! It provides fabulous highdesert scenery, including the New York Mountains, Castle Peaks, Lanfair Valley and Hackberry Mountains.
