Canton Avenue is a little street tucked into a corner of Beechview neighborhood of Pittsburgh, in the US state of Pennsylvania. It’s said to be one of the steepest streets in the United States, with a maximum gradient of 33 percent.

How long is Canton Avenue in Pittsburgh?

Located on the western part of Pennsylvania, the street is 630 ft (192 meters) long, running south-north from Coast Avenue to Hampshire Avenue. Traffic is only allowed to go one way up the hill.

How steep is Canton Avenue?

The road is fully paved, with cobblestone, and extremely steep, hitting a 37% maximum gradient on a 6.5 meters long section. In 2016, Audi filmed a TV ad on the hill.
