The drive is definitely worth it. Don’t forget your camera! The wilderness includes the southeast portion of the Mineral Mountains. The two major topographical features are White Canyon with its numerous side canyons and the Rincon, a large escarpment which towers above the valley floor. Intricately carved and scenically splendid White Canyon runs north-south through the middle of this Wilderness. The entrance is on Arizona-177. Narrow in places, this canyon's walls rise as much as 800 feet above the bottom.

All primitive dirt roads may be rocky with areas or soft gravel or sand that makes travel unsafe for sedans or RVs. This dirt road goes toward Walnut Canyon and White Canyon. A very capable high-clearance 4x4 is required. At Walnut Canyon, the road has been damaged by periodic flooding. Proceed with caution.
