Norris Canyon Road is a highly scenic route in the heart of Yellowstone National Park, in the U.S. state of Wyoming. It runs entirely over 2,300m (7,500ft) above sea level.

Is Norris Canyon Road in Yellowstone paved?

Tucked away in Park County, in the northwestern corner of Wyoming, the road is fully paved. It serves as a connecting route between Norris Geyser Basin and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River.

How long is Norris Canyon Road?

It spans 18.50km (11.5 miles), running west-east from Grand Loop Road to Canyon Village. The road is steep, with sections reaching a 10% maximum gradient. Cell service is sporadic at best, but it provides access to Virginia Cascade Drive.

Is Norris Canyon Road open?

Located high in the heart of Yellowstone National Park, the road reaches an elevation of 2,517m (8,257ft) above sea level. Due to inclement weather, it is closed during winter months.
