Pinal de Amoles (Road Mexico 120)
Located in central Mexico, Carretera Pinal de Amoles (Mexico 120) offers great landscapes in the transition from desert, temperate forest and tropical jungle.
It's a very scenic drive that includes historical towns with colorful missions and homes, cobblestone streets, great mountain scenery and lots of dangerous road segments and curves. Located within the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve, the road goes from the desert at 1.500 meters above sea level and continues up into the mountains at 2.600 meters above sea level. Past Pinal de Amoles, the road goes into a dramatical descend into Jalpan de Serra located at 750 meters above sea level.
