Road trip guide: Conquering Mount Artos

Mount Artos (Artos Dağı) is a dormant volcano at an elevation of 3.225m (10,580ft) above the sea level, located in Van Province in eastern Turkey. It’s one of the highest roads of Europe.

Çadır Dağı

The road to the summit, also known as Çadır Dağı, is totally unpaved and very narrow. 4x4 vehicle with high clearance required. It's one of the highest roads of the country. Accessibility is largely limited to the summer season. The summit offers stunning views over the Lake of Van. Lead ore is found on the mountain.
Starting from Gevaş, the road to the summit is 17.29km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 1.530 meters. The average gradient is 8.84%.
