Danakıran Road

Danakıran Road is a drive you'll never forget

Danakıran Road is a high mountain road located in the Ağrı Province of eastern Turkey. It’s one of the highest roads of the country climbing up to 2.961m (9,714ft) above the sea level.

The road is 13.9km long. It’s gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times and usually impassable in winters. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 required. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. It's one of the highest roads of Europe.
