Baltaş Tepesi, a hairy high mountain unpaved road

Baltaş Tepesi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.047m (9,996ft) above the sea level, located in Rize Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It’s one of the highest roads of the country.

Baltaş Tepesi

The road to the summit is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is usually impassable in winters. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 recommended. It's one of the highest roads of Europe.
Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. The climb is very steep, with sections up to 15%. The road includes very narrow sections and several hairpin turns.
