Eğribel Geçidi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.236m (7,335ft) above the sea level located in Giresun Province, in the Black Sea region of Turkey.

Is Eğribel Geçidi paved?

Set high on the northeastern part of the country, the road to the summit is totally paved in pretty bad conditions. It’s called D865. Access to the pass is typically open all year round but short term closures are common in winter due to dangerous weather conditions. In 2021, the most challenging part of the road was bypassed by the 5.9km long Eğribel Tunnel. With the construction of the new tunnel, the road has been shortened by 6.5 kilometers and a time saving of 20 minutes on the route was also achieved.

How long is Eğribel Geçidi?

The road is 108km (67 miles) long running south-north from Şebinkarahisar (the administrative seat for Şebinkarahisar District, Giresun Province) to Giresun (the provincial capital of Giresun Province). The road has steep sections, hitting a 10% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
