Gölyurt Geçidi

The road to Gölyurt Geçidi is a chillout in high mountains

Gölyurt Geçidi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.387m (7,831ft) above the sea level located in the İspir District of Erzurum Province, in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey.

The road to the summit is totally paved, not in good conditions. It’s called D925. It is difficult to keep the pass open to traffic during the winters because of the harsh weather conditions due to high altitude. If you've got your own vehicle, it's worth stopping for the views.

The pass is 38.6 km (23,98 miles) long, running from Kirazlı to Zeyrek. The road to the summit is very steep, hitting an 11% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. North the pass, a minor gravel road climbs up to a communication tower, at 2.439m (8,001ft) above the sea level.
