Dallıkavak Geçidi

Dallıkavak Geçidi is a paved road heading deep into the high mountains

Dallıkavak Geçidi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.349m (7,706ft) above the sea level located in Erzurum Province, in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey.

Set high in the eastern part of the country, the road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called D925. The pass is 29km (18 miles) long, running south-north from Eğerti to Toprakkale. If you've got your own vehicle, it's worth stopping for the views.

The road to the summit is very steep, hitting an 8% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. It is difficult to keep the pass open to traffic during the winters because of the harsh weather conditions due to high altitude. A 6,200 meter long tunnel is being built to bypass the defiant mountain road.
