Dallıkavak Geçidi

How long is Dallıkavak Geçidi?

Set high on the eastern part of the country, the road to the summit is mostly paved (pretty bad conditions). It’s called D925. The pass is 29km (18 miles) long, running south-north from Eğerti to Toprakkale. If you've got your own vehicle, it's worth stopping for the views.

Is Dallıkavak Geçidi challenging?

The road to the summit is very steep, hitting an 8% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. It is difficult to keep the pass open to traffic during the winters because of the harsh weather conditions due to high altitude. A 6,200 meter long tunnel (Dallıkavak Tunnel) is being built to bypass the defiant mountain road. The tunnel will shorten the drive by 4.4 km and the travel time will be reduced by approximately 15 minutes.
