Ilgazdağı Geçidi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.875m (6,151ft) above the sea level, located in the Kastamonu Province, in the Black Sea region to the north of Turkey.
The pass is traversed by the asphalted D765 road. It’s a winding and narrow mountain road with some concrete sections. On 2012 the pass was bypassed by a 5,4km long tunnel, called Ilgaz 15 Temmuz İstiklal Tüneli. It is subject to winter snowfalls with such a high summit altitude, and the road can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow.
