A wild 4x4 road to Dikenli Dagi in Erzurum Province

Dikenli Dağı is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,794m (9,166ft) above sea level, located in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. It’s one of the highest roads in Europe.

Where is Dikenli Dagi?

The pass is located to the east of Tahir Gediği, in Erzurum Province, in the northeastern part of the country.

Is the road to Dikenli Dagi unpaved?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved and hardly passable. Nothing less than a 4x4 with high clearance would do it, as the road has rocks and very deteriorated parts. It comprises narrow sections and dangerous drops. Starting from Çamlıca, the road to the summit is about 12km (7.45 miles) long.
