Is the road to Sakaltutan Geçidi paved?

Set high in the northeastern part of Turkey, near the Georgian border, the road to the summit is entirely paved. It’s called D965, part of European Route 691. The road is wide, in pretty good condition, mostly straight, but features steep sections.

How long is Sakaltutan Geçidi?

The road is 53.9 km (33.49 miles) long, running from Ardahan to Susuz. While the pass generally remains open throughout the year, temporary closures are frequent during winter due to hazardous weather conditions.
