Driving the road to Ardıçı Tepe is not a piece of cake
Ardıçı Tepe is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.633m (8,638ft) above the sea level, located in Erzurum Province, in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey.
Set high on the eastern part of the country, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. A 4x4 vehicle is required. This road is usually impassable from late October through late June or early July (depending on snow).
Starting at Yeşilvadi, near Ağzıaçık Geçidi, the road to the summit is 3.3km (2.05 miles) long. It’s a very steep drive hitting a 13% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. Over this distance the elevation gain is 282 meters. The average gradient is 8.54%.
