Set high in the southern central part of the country, the road the summit is totally unpaved and very challenging. High clearance vehicles required. The drive is very narrow and defiant: proceed cautiously and hope no other vehicles come from the other direction: you’ll be forced to drive in reverse for over a kilometer until you find a spot to turn around. North of the summit is Mount Karadag, a peak with the ruins of a Byzantine church, a chapel and monastery an around the year 2000 a military radar base.

The summit hosts a TV transmitter station. Starting at Madenşehri, a village in the central district of Karaman Province, the road to the summit is 11.8 km (7.33 miles) long. It’s a very steep drive. Over this distance the elevation gain is 957 meters. The average gradient is 8.11%.
