Where is Aletschbord Vantage Point?
Tucked away in the southern part in the country, the area hosts some restaurants, a hotel and a chapel called Kapelle Belalp – Lüsge. It was built in 1883 by Gervas Klingel, the owner of the nearby hotel as an Anglican church for the English tourists, today it is mainly used as wedding chapel.
How long is the road to Aletschbord Vantage Point?
The road is totally unpaved, with narrow parts and pretty steep. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Starting from Belalp, the road is 1.8 km long and offers great views of the Great Aletsch Glacier.
Is the road to Aletschbord Vantage Point open in winters?
Set high in the Swiss Alps, the area receives heavy snowfalls and the road is usually impassable in winters.
