The pass is located in the Engiadina Bassa/Val Müstair Region of the Swiss canton of Graubünden, in the most eastern corner of the country. Near the summit there’s a mountain hut known as Alp Mora.

The road to the summit is totally unpaved, with loose gravel, rocky parts and very steep sections. A 4x4 vehicle is required though the road it’s closed to private vehicles.

How long is the road to Alp Mora?

Starting from Route 28, near Ofen Pass, the road to the summit is 5.3 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 352 m and the average gradient is 6.64%.

Is the road to Alp Mora open year-round?

Set high in the Swiss Ortler Alps, the road is usually closed in winters due to the heavy snowfalls in the area.
