A wild unpaved road to Val Viola Pass

Passo di Val Viola is an international high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.432m (7,979ft) above the sea level, located in the Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy.

Passo di Val Viola

On the Italian side, the road is extreme. Gravel, narrow, steep, slippery when wet, and impassable in winters.  The track becomes a single walking path the last meters. The pass links Poschiavo in the Swiss canton of Graubünden with Valdidentro in the Italian region of Lombardy. On the Swiss side it’s just a walking path.
