Adventure along the mule track to Scaletta Pass in the Swiss Alps
Scalettapass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,606 m (8,550 ft) above sea level, located in the canton of Graubünden, in Switzerland.
Where is Scaletta Pass?
The pass is located south of Davos, in the southeastern part of the country, within the beautiful Dischmatal valley. The pass hosts a wooden mountain refuge built in 1727.
Is Scaletta Pass unpaved?
The road through the pass is totally unpaved. It is a mule track closed to vehicles. Bikes only. Starting from Dürrboden, the trail to the summit is 4.2 km (2.6 miles) long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 592 m and the average gradient is 14.09%.
Is Scaletta Pass open in winter?
Set high in the Albula Range of the Alps, accessibility is largely limited to the summer season. The area features a high risk of avalanches.
