The hut is located in the comarca of Cerdanya, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, in the northern part of the country near the French border.

The shelter was inaugurated in 1976 and sits on the northern side of the Serra del Cadí (Cadí mountain range), just below the Gosolans pass. It’s an excellent base camp if you want to practice mountaineering. There’s a small parking lot near the hut.

The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It comprises rocky sections, many curves, 9 sharp hairpin turns and very steep sections. A high-clearance vehicle is required. Along the way you can enjoy a high mountain environment typical of the Pyrenees area.
