A steep paved road to Alto del Moncalvillo

Alto del Moncalvillo (Cima del Serradero) is a mountain peak at an elevation of 1.480m (4,855ft) above the sea level, located in the autonomous community of La Rioja, in northern Spain.

The road to the summit is asphalted (pretty poor conditions) with 6 hairpin turns. The summit is crownded with many communication towers. Located in the Sierra de Moncalvillo mountain range, the climb has been featured in Spanish Vuelta race.

Starting from LR-341 road (near Daroca de Rioja town), the ascent is 8.6 km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 752 meters. The average gradient is 8.74%, with some parts up to 14%.
