The ascent starts in the town of Bagà, branching off from the BV-4024 road (the one that goes up to Coll de Pal). The track, officially called Camí de Monell, is 6.9 km long and climbs steadily into the valley. While the gravel surface is generally in good condition, it is a narrow mountain path where passing another vehicle can be a real headache. You need to be comfortable with reversing your vehicle on narrow ledges, as there are very few places to pull over if you meet someone coming the other way.
