Puerto El Madroño is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.063m (3,487ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain.

The winding road to the summit is asphalted and wide. It’s called A-397 and links the cities of San Pedro de Alcántara and Ronda. Along the route you can appreciate mountain landscapes. Risk of rock slides.

The road does get busier at weekends and in the main holiday season. Starting from San Pedro de Alcántara, the ascent is 20.38 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 1003 meters. The average gradient is 4.9 %. The maximum gradient is 10.0%.
