
Tunel de Cotefablo
Tunel de Cotefablo is a high mountain tunnel at an elevation of 1.423m (4,668ft) above the sea level, located in the province of Huesca, in northeastern Spain close to the border with France.
The tunnel is located in the midst of the Pyrenees. It was inaugurated in 1935. The road through the tunnel is called N-260 (known as Eje Subpirenaico) and links the villages of Broto and Biescas. It’s asphalted but pretty narrow, impassable for 2 trucks at the same time. The tunnel is 683 meters long. The road to the tunnel is pretty steep, with sections up to 10%. Open to traffic throughout the year. May be closed for short periods in winter when the weather is bad.
